A central heat pump uses ductwork to distribute heating and cooling throughout the home. A ductless system is often a good option for homes without ducts, additions or areas needing individual temperature control. We assess your layout and existing equipment to help you choose.
For a central system, a heat pump generally works alongside a furnace or an air handler with electric backup heat. It can handle much of the heating season, with backup heat available when needed. Ductless systems can work with other backup heating, such as electric baseboards.
Sound levels vary by model and operating speed. Many modern units run quietly, particularly at lower speeds. We review equipment sound ratings and placement with you, taking nearby windows, outdoor living areas and neighbouring properties into account.
A well-maintained heat pump can often last around 15 to 20 years, although lifespan varies with usage, installation quality and maintenance. We can assess an older system and help you weigh repair and replacement options.
